Congratulations Ryan Bradt, winner of the 2015 Nissan Leaf!
What did you think when you got a call from Craig on Thursday, May 5 at 1pm?
I was completely stunned and ecstatic! In a funny twist, I was driving to Wenatchee at the time to instruct a course on electric vehicles for a group of electricians. When I arrived at the course, I shared the news with the class, all thought I was pulling their leg until I showed them the announcement on OSEIA's website.
Tell us a little about yourself.
I live in Everett, WA and have been an electrician for 20 years, working the last ten years instructing Apprentice Electricians at the NW Washington Electrical J.A.T.C. I am passionate about emerging technology - including electric vehicles (EV) and solar photovoltaics (PV). I have worked in the development of curriculum on both topics in fact. I sit on both the national committees in the US and Canada for the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Training Partnership (EVITP) and have taught EV and PV classes around the country and across Canada.
What are you most excited about being an EV driver?
In the future, I look forward to using the Leaf as a demonstration piece in my classes and using the quick charging capability to travel Highway 2, which was the first electrified highway in the US.
Anything you want to tell the OSEIA membership and EV raffle ticket purchasers?
I promise to take great care of the car and always wash it at a carwash that recycles all of their water. Further, I will continue to be an advocate for EV's and use the car to promote the industry. I want to personally thank everyone at OSEIA and those who participated in the raffle!
