ODOE Launches New Resource: Oregon Solar Dashboard

The Oregon Solar Dashboard was developed to share information about solar energy facilities installed in Oregon. “OSEIA commends ODOE for working so hard to make this data publicly available.  We believe this will be a great tool for the industry to use and reference over the years,” Angela Crowley-Koch, Executive Director, OSEIA. The Oregon Solar Dashboard displays solar data dating as far back as 1999 through 2018. Data is categorized by system size, date of installation, and sector- residential, commercial, or utility.  Most of the data collection was a result of the Residential Energy Tax Credit (RETC) program, a state incentive for renewable energy investments that sunset in 2017. ODOE is currently in the process of developing a method to collect data from Oregon utilities on an annual basis.

ODOE Senior Policy Analyst Rob Del Mar presented the Oregon Solar Dashboard at the 2019 Oregon Solar Energy Conference and solicited feedback for improvement.  Future iterations of the solar dashboard may include critical facilities, community solar installations, service territory boundaries, some downloadable data, and storage data.
